ABB PFTL101A 1.0KN 3BSE004166R1 is a lightweight pillow block tension transducer for horizontal force measurement of low-tension web materials. With 1kN rated load, it adopts magnetoelastic principle. When tension acts on the sensor, the internal magnetic permeability changes and generates stable mV/V output signals. Different from conventional strain gauge sensors, it minimizes long-term fatigue drift and maintains excellent linearity and repeatability under continuous production. The load cell is capable of resisting large overload spikes generated during web break or speed variation, avoiding permanent damage to the sensing element. Installed under idle roller bearing housings, it only detects horizontal tension force and eliminates measuring error caused by roller weight. It sends raw tension signals to ABB PFSK series conditioning boards to form a complete tension control system. The system dynamically adjusts roller speed to keep constant web tension during acceleration and deceleration, preventing thin web stretching, wrinkling or fracture, improving product yield and reducing raw material waste.
