Schneider 140CPU67160C is a high-performance hot standby Unity processor for Modicon Quantum PLC automation platform. With 266MHz processing core and multi-mode Ethernet port, it delivers bumpless redundant switchover and reliable real-time control for critical continuous industrial processes.

Schneider 140CPU67160C is an industrial hot standby CPU processor belonging to the classic Modicon Quantum automation series, designed for high-availability process control systems that demand zero interruption during processor faults. Running under Unity Pro programming software, this 266MHz processor features built-in 1024kB internal RAM and supports memory expansion via PCMCIA card to meet large program and data storage requirements for complex automation projects. 

This CPU module is built specially for hot standby redundant architecture. It can synchronize program logic, variable data and system status between primary and standby CPUs. Once the main processor encounters failure, the standby unit will take over control instantly with bumpless transfer, avoiding sudden production halt and protecting critical production assets. It integrates multiple communication interfaces including multi-mode Ethernet TCP/IP, Modbus Plus and USB, supporting connection to local racks, distributed I/O stations and remote I/O nodes, which can manage up to multiple local racks and dozens of distributed I/O stations in the whole control network. Adopted industrial-grade PCB and screened electronic components, the module has strong resistance to vibration, shock, temperature drift and electromagnetic interference in factory environments. 

Front panel equipped with LCD screen and LED indicator lights, operators can directly view running status, fault codes, network communication state, convenient for on-site inspection, diagnosis and troubleshooting. It adopts standard Quantum rack backplane plug-in installation design, easy to assemble, replace and maintain without modifying original cabinet layout. Every 140CPU67160C undergoes strict factory aging test, communication test, redundancy switching test and full function calibration before delivery. Even though this model has been phased out by Schneider, it is still widely used as core spare part for existing Quantum system maintenance, overhaul and upgrade projects. It is extensively applied in power plants, petrochemical, oil & gas, metallurgy, water treatment and large manufacturing industries, serving as the central control core of safety-critical continuous production lines. It maintains full hardware and software compatibility with original Quantum I/O modules, backplanes and accessories, greatly reducing system reconstruction cost.
